Then, I will be answering any questions you may have regarding whether to include them in your new healthy weight loss diet or not!
A Top Source Of Protein
Peanut is a fantastic source of protein and fiber. Two essentials for optimum health. They also contain a lot of healthy fats.
It is also an absolute fact that diets that are high in nut content are helpful for people who are practicing their weight management. As well as also assisting you in the prevention of specific forms of cancer as they are rich in antioxidants.
An antioxidant is a chemical that helps to combat a substance known as a free radical, which becomes a very volatile chemical in the blood, and they are harmful to us.
Antioxidant Properties
They(Antioxidants) can also be considered a critical factor in the prevention of heart disease. And when you add 4 of the recent studies together, it becomes more easily understand the data they will give you.
The results were astounding and would show a 37% decrease in the risk of any coronary disease when nuts were eaten four times a week in comparison to those who never ate them at all or very irregularly.
The unusually high antioxidant content is in colorfully orange fruits and vegetables. Eating these may result in the combating of the said free radicals, which can lead to premature aging and hardening of the arteries, and more.
A Peanut Is Not A Nut
Technically speaking the peanut is not, in fact, a nut at all. It is what is called a legume. That means it is in a similar class to soya beans and chickpeas more so than any other” tree nuts.”
You can read more on the peanut here on Wikipedia.
If you want to find readily available foods with a high concentration of antioxidants, then you need not look any further than red and orange vegetables and fruits as these contain a lot of them.
Peanuts contain something called polyphenols, which are chemicals that are in some foods. They have potent antioxidant properties!
Are Peanuts Good For You: Yes, But Not Salted
Eating peanuts is/are right for you of that, there is no doubt. But, you should steer clear of the salted variety. They are NOT suitable for you. We should all be made aware that salt is not ideal for the human body.
In a nutshell, salt raises a person’s blood pressure, which in turn can lead to all kinds of medical complications so you should avoid it. And when you do consume it, do so in moderation.
Also, the evidence is increasing of links between salt and cancer, obesity, osteoporosis, and even kidney stones. That is not to mention that it can also make symptoms worse for those that suffer from/asthma and diabetes.
You will never lose weight naturally if you continue to eat lots of salt, never!
Rich In Antioxidants
The peanut itself is as rich in antioxidants as fruit, so this is one of their significant benefits, it is. Because any food that helps to combat this terrible illness, well, it will have a big welcome.
On a more personal note, reading what I read and now aware of more things, I eat four packets of nuts per week. I do not go overboard as I say in some of my other posts.
Even too much of a good thing will become unhealthy for you. I think the most I ever ate was seven packets. But that was an exception.
So I hope this helped to answer the question of are peanuts good for you? The evidence speaks for itself in my mind, so with all confidence, I can say yes they are, and other than the consumption of salted one I really could find nothing negative about them whatsoever.
Fantastic Food For Snacking
They are excellent foods for snacking on naturally because they will curb your hunger and help to keep those terrible cravings for junk food at bay.
Now, what if it just so happens that you do not like either the texture or taste of nuts? I know I certainly do not want them at all, ever since I can remember I love them not.
And, whenever possible, I avoid eating nuts every time they are people offering them to me. But, what about the fantastic vitamins and minerals that they contain? How do I gain their benefit you may be wondering?
